Bergen Satin Cutlery

Inspired by Scandinavian design, Bergen Satin Cutlery has pared back details and clean lines. The full satin finish adds to the Scandinavian aesthetic and gives this design a soft patina and a subtle differentiation. The pinch or waist feature on the pieces creates a contemporary silhouette.

Robert Welch studied in Norway in 1954 with a group of British students culminating in an exhibition of their work in Bergen. The silver vase made by Robert features a similar pinched and tapered shape, and was acquired by the Museum of Applied Arts in Bergen where it remains on display.
